They come when I call.

Yet another beautiful day and it was so warm that the ice started melting on the spot I park my car so now it’s dangerous to walk there, especially when I’m wearing my working shoes which I do every morning🙂 I’ll do my best not to slip and fall even though it seems unlikely that I’ll manage that🙂 I slipped on the ice out by the bog yesterday afternoon and while I was lying there on the ground greeted by happy dogs and wondering if my left hip still was in one piece I realised I had forgotten my mobile phone. That would have been fun trying to walk 500 meters (a bit less in yards) with a broken hip🙂🙂🙂

But to be honest, it didn’t even hurt so I was pretty sure I had made it without breaking anything. But I made sure I brought the phone today on our walk after work🙂 We went down to the creek and it’s a bit funny because I instantly know if the deer we meet are “my” deers or strangers. Strangers run like crazy as soon as they see us but the ones we know sort of strolls away in a rather relaxed speed🙂 They really don’t care about us as long as we don’t surprise them.

Not my deers :-)

Not my deers🙂

Rune and Lotta had been to my garden while we were away on our walk but I called for them and they stopped and returned to the garden as soon as I had poured out the food🙂 They don’t come too close thankfully, I don’t want tame deers but so close that they know they’ll be the first to eat🙂 But Rune and Lotta walks away as soon as Longhorn and his ladies arrive. I have never seen Longhorn do anything against them but they just don’t seem to like each other very much.

They have all left the garden for the moment, they tend to eat just a little each time, except for Tiny. She is still out there eating as much as she can, I guess the others easily can chase her away just because she’s so tiny. It’s time to make something to eat for myself as well, every one else has gotten something by now🙂 The fire is burning in the stove and the night will once again be clear and cold. Only three more working days this week🙂

      Christer.

  2. Hi Christer,
Good that you didn’t hurt yourself by slipping in the bog. You could have been licked to death by happy dogs.🙂
I usually forget my cell phone when I go for a walk.

I had to stop for a second to figure out what that strange animal was. Ah, a Flying Sune!😀
Lovely shots of the frozen creek and the ice.

The weather here was fickle. It was cloudy but the sun would brighten it a bit. There were blue spots in the clouds. Rocky and I went to the lake where it was very windy and brutally cold. But still some blue spots and some brightening. There was a swan on the lake so I hung around to take pictures of it. Rocky was happy. Afterwards, I stopped at the store to get stuff I didn’t need. When I came out, tiny snowballs were falling from the sky.
The sap is up in the willows and I saw a turkey vulture flying overhead so spring must be lurking somewhere nearby. I hope. Summer is only 87 days away.🙂

    Enjoy the evening.

    • Hi Caryn!

And since I know what they eat it actually might have been the death for me🙂🙂🙂

Sune loves to jump over the widest ditches, the first time he tried it he sort of stopped half ways and fell straight down in to the muddy and rusty water🙂🙂🙂

No vultures up here unless they are very lost🙂 We actually had one here last summer! It had been caught by a storm and had no chance but to follow it until it could land again🙂
Thankfully no wind here and the few swans I know we have here is hiding I think🙂

I would be satisfied if spring would arrive, too early to think about summer yet🙂

      Have a great day!
      Christer.

  3. hi christer! i love the pic of the leaping sune! we are expecting snow for the next couple days and then spring arrives. it will be crazy with tourists out front next weekend. i hate tourists! i think it is why i like winter and bad weather so much. it equals lack of crowds and quiet! joyce

    • Hi Joyce!

That dog just loves to jump, especially over wide ditches🙂

I have to admit that I don’t like the tourists that comes with the cranes! They can stop in the middle of the highway, jumpmout of the car and walk across the road without caring that there are other cars coming!!!!! But the few we have the rest of summer is quite ok🙂

      Have a great day!
      Christer.

  4. Glad to know you were not hurt on that fall, Christer, and carrying your cell phone would seem a good precaution especially on your bog walks, but then I usually forget to take mine or at least to turn it on, but nice to know it;s available even when turned off. Rain here all day today, which makes it a dreary Monday.

    • Hi Beatrice!

It would have been problematic to walk those yards with a broken hip🙂🙂🙂
I always have my mobile with me on the walks after work because I still wear my work pants then. But otherwise I tend to forget to bring it🙂🙂

      Sunshine again today🙂

      Have a great day!
      Christer.

  5. Christer,
I did that fall on the ice this winter and used my elbow to break my fall: it hurt for weeks. The best reason to bring my cell phone was during one summer when i was taking my shower outside. The door handle wouldn’t open, and I was afraid I’d be stuck forever as the shower is under the deck. Finally I got it open-now I bring my phone!

We have 2 inches of snow coming, but it is supposed to melt right away as it will be warmer, in the 40’s.

    Great picture of Sue leaping!

    Have a wonderful evening,
    Kat

    • Hi Kat!

I must have hit my elbow as well because it has been a bit sour for two days now but I have to admit that I didn’t feel anything that day.

I remember You writing about that🙂🙂🙂 Those phones can be life savers.

I’m not sure whatb they predict today but yesterday they said the snow most possibly won’t reach us, so it probably eill🙂🙂🙂

      Have a great dasy!
      Christer.

      Christer.

    • Hi Cindi!

I guess that’s when I’m lucky because I never win any money to speak abot when it comes to the lottery🙂🙂🙂

      Have a great day!
      Christer.
