Grass and snowdrops.

Much the same weather today as it has been this past week and I’m not complaining 🙂 But the roads are now a bit muddy and my dogs is anything but clean when we come home after our walk 🙂 But I rather take that than freezing cold all day.

I saw two cranes on a frozen lake this morning on my way to work, they looked so lonely and sort of miserable. I guess it’s tha couple that always nest there and they can’t leave the area because another couple might come and take it away from them. There are so many cranes now that good nesting places is hard to find. Now days they even nest in bigger towns.

I’ve seen some tufts of green grass now 🙂 and more snow drops have shown in one of the flower beds. Spring isn’t here yet but it always feel promising when the small bulbs start to grow 🙂 I’m looking for news about Kim Jong Un, the dictator of North Korea (no new ones yet today though), he has really painted  himself in to a corner now.  I can’t imagine that he wants to start a war but after all this threatening towards the USA and South Korea he would look like the fool he is if he didn’t. Not in the eyes of the poor people who live in that country, they know very little about the outside world so he can say what ever he wants to them. But in the eyes of his own militaries and the outside world he would never be taken seriously ever again.

We’re all very tired at work now, I guess all this sunshine is the cause behind it, we really aren’t used to this much daylight after the long dark winter 🙂 So now I’ll make myself a pot of tea and a couple of hot sandwiches 🙂

  1. hi christer! glad you are still having nice weather. i am about to head out and start to clean up my patio area. i guess i have to start somewhere! there is so much to do! joyce

    • Hi Joyce!

They say this weather will continue for at least five more days 🙂

To early to clean up anything here yet, well I clean the lawn after the dogs but that’s it. But it feels like it won’t be long until cleaning time is here too 🙂

      Have a great day!

  2. Hi Christer,
There’s a bit of green showing here and there. I can see the tips of dayflower leaves and Star of Bethlehem leaves. There are also lawn chives and, as always, an abundance of skunk cabbage. No flowers. The lawn is a mess and I can’t really clean it up yet as it’s still muddy. The buds on the trees are just starting to swell. This time last year there were leaves and flowers.
Is the top photo one of your deer? I can’t tell the females apart except I think you said Doris has a torn ear.

Nice moon shot. 🙂 The rime by the creek is a good one, too.

    Enjoy the day.

    • Hi Caryn!

We’re way behind here too but the Assurian redberried elderberry tree has buds that just started to swell. It will of course, like always, freeze later on 🙂

Yes that’s one of my deers 🙂 I think it’s Lotta but I need to see her front, the hinds have slightly different white spot on their thraots. Dris has a torn ear and I can see which one is Tiny just because she’s tiny 🙂 But without those spots it’s more or less impossibe to tell thye difference.

I like the two tree stumps at the end.

      Have a great day!

  3. We walk every day and we have to dry out dog off most days — and we live in town. I can only imagine the mess your dogs get in on muddy roads!

    • Hi Dee!

Nova is always clean, I don’t know how she does it but nondirt on her ever 🙂 The others however is dirty even after I’ve showered them 🙂 As soon as the fur dries sand falls out of it 🙂 🙂 🙂

      Have a great day!

  4. beautiful frost and moss photos! I don’t even like to think about Korea’s threats, its just so upsetting, sometimes I feel like shutting off the tv and newspapers! Enjoy that sunshine, wish we had some!

    • Hi Laurie!

It doesn’t loom as the North Koreans will back down this time! Very strange!

Nice weather again today even if the clouds arrived as soon as work finished for the day. I don’t mind, I’ll stay indoors now after our walk anyway 🙂

      Have a great day!

  5. Christer, after reading how muddy the dogs are getting on your walks, you must really be wishing for warmer and drier weather and grounds soon! All has been calm in our area with still cooler temps and some rain, but at least not all day downpours. I suppose everyone at your job will feel more awake in a few weeks…

    • Hi Beatrice!

I do long for it but that won’t happen anytime soon I’m afraid. The ground frost is hal a yard thick and things will get even worse when that is defrosting 🙂

Yes soon we all have adjusted to the sunny weather but I guesss that’s when the clouds and rain comes again 🙂 🙂 🙂

      Have a great day!
